About the College
Holy Spirit College – Edmonton. This initiative of the Diocese of Cairns offers individualised and flexible multi‑year secondary education programs for young people disengaged from mainstream schooling. Staff are multidisciplinary and work across three campuses: Edmonton, Manoora, and Cooktown.
Cooktown campus: 38 students, 32‑bed residential unit for years 7‑12. Edmonton and Manoora offer day schooling for years 7‑12.
Students are typically Indigenous or non‑Indigenous, disengaged from mainstream schools due to a range of complex needs (complex trauma, extended absences, high mobility, juvenile justice contact, care of children and families, mental illness, self‑harm risk, substance abuse, exclusion, homelessness, family history of early school leaving).
