Catholic Healthcare is seeking a warm, grounded, and relational Spiritual & Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team at St Francis, Orange, our welcoming 53‑bed residential aged care home.In this deeply meaningful position, you will provide person‑centred, faith‑informed, and trauma‑aware spiritual and pastoral care to residents, families, and employees. Your presence will nurture connection, dignity, and emotional wellbeing, particularly for residents navigating ageing, grief, dementia, or end‑of‑life experiences. This position is available on a permanent part time basis working 3 days per week from 8:30am to 4:00pm. You will: Offer one‑to‑one and group pastoral support based on residents’ individual spiritual and cultural preferences. Build trusting relationships through empathy, listening, and genuine connection. Support residents and families during grief, loss, palliative care, and spiritual distress. Prepare and deliver prayers, reflections, and spiritual activities inclusive of various faith backgrounds. Collaborate with the care team, lifestyle staff, Mission team, volunteers, external clergy, and families. Maintain pastoral care notes and adhere to safe, trauma‑informed, and values‑based practice. What You Bring Certificate III/IV in Pastoral Care, Counselling, Theology, Spirituality, or similar. Understanding of spiritual and pastoral care within aged care. Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia. Knowledge of trauma‑informed care principles. Warm, empathetic interpersonal skills and the ability to connect authentically with others. Respect for residents’ stories, identities, faith backgrounds, and personal choices. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
