About The Role
The purpose of the Teacher Librarian is to enhance and support the school community’s teaching and learning program, foster a love of reading, manage resources, guide staff and students to promote knowledge and skills, and develop information literacy. The Teacher Librarian will collaborate with teachers and school leaders to design and deliver effective library, information and digital literacy programs; and will form collegial relationships with Teacher Librarians at other campuses.
Key responsibilities include supporting and implementing the Vision for Teaching and Learning through library and information services, providing access to information resources through productive systems for organising, retrieving and circulating resources, and facilitating the development of a reading culture and literacy skills. The role also focuses on teaching literacy skills and assisting in the creation of responsible digital citizens, and includes management and delivery of library services to students and staff.
The position is ongoing (1.0 FTE) and fixed term, commencing on Tuesday, 27 January 2026 and concluding on Friday, 19 January 2029. The role is based at the Donnybrook campus, with a leadership allowance at level 1 and 0.4 time release.
Requirements for the Role
- Bachelor of Education degree or higher
- Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
