About this Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Barron Gorge Power Station in Cairns. This is a 4-year fixed term contract that will provide an exceptional opportunity to learn a technical trade and contribute to the delivery of planned maintenance across the power station.
The successful candidate will complete both on and off the job training, including TAFE study blocks, to achieve a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical while developing work skills and experience supported by ongoing mentoring and coaching.
Key Requirements
* You must be committed to undertaking and successfully completing a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical (4-year course).
* Essential requirements include completion or current completion of year 11 with satisfactory results in both Math & English along with a valid drivers' licence (learners or provisional stage acceptable).
* You should be mechanically minded and have a strong commitment to safety.
* You should be eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions or for guidance when required.
