About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Client Services Officer to join our team. In this people-focused role, you will maintain an environment that supports positive relationships with clients and their key stakeholders, to achieve client goals and outcomes.
* You will oversee disability support workers who provide personalised support to clients in Supported Independent Living (SILs) with higher support needs needing 24x7 support.
* This includes challenging behaviours, mental health, and autism spectrum disorder.
* You will play a vital role in ensuring unique goals are met through co-ordination of client care between support coordinators, allied health, and our teams.
Fostering an environment of respect, dignity, and independence is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee day-to-day support needs of clients in SIL programs, including coordination and collaboration with care teams.
2. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and aspirations, exploring options and developing actions to meet their support needs and personal goals.
3. Advocate internally and externally to ensure systems and services protect client rights and promote client control over decision-making.
4. Promote capacity building and social inclusion to maintain and promote independence.
5. Day-to-day communication and supervision of Disability Support Workers.
6. Monitor and ensure timely resolutions of client complaints and issues.
7. Assist and support clients through transitions to our organisation.
8. Work as part of a rotating on-call roster, responding to escalated staff calls.
About You
You are a warm, supportive person with experience in the disability sector and leadership skills.
A strong IT background and ability to work with various systems are also essential.
Requirements
* Minimum Certificate IV qualification in a relevant area, such as Disability, Community Services, or Aged Care.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in aged care or a disability support provider.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
* Current NDIS Workers Screening Check.
* Proven ability to provide quality support to clients.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Personal organisation and time management skills.
* Good initiative and task prioritisation abilities.
* Commitment to customer service and supporting clients to enhance independence and meet personal goals and support social interaction.
* High-level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Smartsheet.
Reliability, honesty, and integrity are also essential qualities for success in this position.
Awareness of relevant legislation, such as the Disability Act 2006, or Department of Health and Human Services' ISO Standards, is highly desirable.
