Clima is seeking a Carbon Accounting & Climate Disclosure Lead to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time hybrid role (WFH/Office). Reporting to the CEO, you will own the carbon accounting and climate disclosures function, leading emissions measurement, ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting requirements, and setting methodological standards. You will guide both clients and internal teams on "what's next" in their sustainability journey, bringing clarity, rigour, and confidence to climate reporting.
Responsibilities
* Lead carbon accounting processes across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
* Lead the preparation of mandatory climate disclosure reports (e.g., AASB S2, ISSB).
* Stay across regulatory, policy, and market developments and translate changes into practical updates for reporting and accounting.
* Define and refine methodological standards for carbon accounting, ensuring both compliance and usability.
* Ensure methodologies and data sources remain accurate, current, and aligned with recognised standards.
* Advise clients and stakeholders on reporting obligations, disclosures, and credible climate pathways.
* Collaborate with product, data, and consulting teams to strengthen methodologies, improve data quality, and streamline reporting workflows.
Qualifications
* Proven track record in carbon accounting and emissions measurement.
* Strong knowledge of climate disclosure frameworks (AASB S2, ISSB, TCFD or equivalent).
* Ability to interpret and apply evolving emissions data and methodologies.
* Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
* Clear and confident communicator, able to translate technical information for business audiences.
* Experience shaping sustainability strategies and advising on reporting obligations.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in hybrid teams.
* Background in environmental consulting or climate risk is desirable.
