Join our team as a Maintenance Coordinator (Civil)
As an experienced leader, you’ll step into a diverse role within our Roads, Drainage, and Marine Maintenance Unit. You’ll split your time between the office and the field, coordinating crews and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance services across the Redlands Coast. Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll provide leadership, support, and oversight of civil assets – from roads and drainage to bridges, concrete pathways, boardwalks, and signage – driving continuous improvement and long-term asset performance across the city.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting multiple teams across civil maintenance
- Recruiting, training, and developing staff to build a protected and productive workplace
- Coordinating cyclic and reactive maintenance works to meet safety and quality standards
- Engaging and managing contractors to deliver services on time and to budget
- Providing specialist advice and maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships
- Playing an active role in the leadership team to drive service improvements
- Managing budgets, estimates, and resources to ensure cost-effective outcomes
- Preparing schedules, reports, and project updates to keep works on track
Skills and experience:
- Proven success leading and motivating multi-disciplinary teams in maintenance or construction
- Strong people management skills including supervision, training, WHS, and performance management
- Knowledge of asset management, project management, and contract administration
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules to achieve cost-effective outcomes
- Understanding of contemporary and emerging techniques in maintenance services
- Skilled in building professional and responsive working relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for the community

Requirements:
- Have a minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant field
- Hold a current Class C Driver's Licence
- Be willing to participate in the after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations, may be required from time to time, to ensure readiness during emergencies, extreme circumstances, or disaster management situations.
- Possess a Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision (or equivalent qualification), or significant relevant experience in a similar role and the ability to rapidly acquire a Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision.
