About The Opportunity
As an Associate Landscape Architect you will help steer the design direction of major Sydney projects while mentoring the next generation of landscape architects. You will be a senior leader responsible for ensuring project efficiency, driving design excellence, and strengthening the firm's market profile. You will guide teams in Newcastle's growing cultural, residential and public‐realm footprint, shaping major projects while enjoying the balance of a coastal regional hub.
A glimpse into your day
* Manage a variety of projects across scales, ensuring they are completed strictly to budget and schedule.
* Lead and manage the design development process to maintain consistent design excellence across the studio.
* Oversee the production of high‐quality deliverables, including site inspections, cost planning and technical documentation.
* Drive business development by sourcing new work and drafting professional submissions for principal authorisation.
* Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with new and existing clients to drive successful project outcomes.
* Provide people management by training, mentoring and assessing team development.
* Handle essential project administration, including daily timesheets, invoicing support and task delegation.
The expertise you'll bring
* A Bachelor of Landscape Architecture or an equivalent skill set, such as Architecture with horticulture or ecology training.
* Extensive professional experience in landscape architecture with a proven track record in staff and project management.
* Expert‐level technical skills regarding modern design and construction techniques and industry programs.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and grow a diverse team of professionals.
* Strong time‐management and organisational skills to keep projects aligned with scope and deadlines.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the professional maturity to advocate for the firm.
* A proactive approach to commercial outcomes, resourcing and continuous improvement of studio systems.
