Senior Research Nurse - Melanographer role at The University of Queensland. 80% part-time, fixed-term position through December 2026. Base salary in the range $93,491 – $100,296 plus 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6). Based at Dutton Park Campus.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct participant study visits, including full skin examinations, total body and dermoscopic photography, and collection of biological samples.
Coordinate research clinic operations, ensuring accurate data management, adherence to protocols, and quality assurance in imaging and reporting.
Collaborate with dermatologists and research staff, reviewing lesions, supporting follow-up processes, and contributing to training and research activities.

Join the Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging & Diagnosis (ACEMID) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital as a Melanographer. In this role, you will support world-leading skin cancer research by engaging with study participants, conducting advanced skin imaging, coordinating research clinics, and ensuring high-quality data collection and management.

About You
A tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Nursing
Demonstrated research experience in a clinical setting; prior experience in skin cancer research highly regarded
Qualification in melanography desirable
Proficiency in operating skin imaging devices, particularly dermoscopy
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with ability to plan ahead, prioritise tasks, and work flexibly both independently and within a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare clear, concise documentation and engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders in a research environment
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available.
