Overview
Indigenous Employment Opportunities – Expression of Interest
We are seeking expressions of interest from Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people for roles at UTS that may become available in the future. Expressions of interest will be actively matched against suitable positions as they arise.
About UTS and our commitment
At UTS, we are committed to supporting positive social change within and beyond our campus. We are recognised for supporting inclusivity and valuing diversity, reflected in a diverse set of social justice initiatives. UTS has a longstanding commitment to overcoming Indigenous disadvantage in employment and education. Since 1993, UTS has operated an affirmative action employment strategy called the Wingara Indigenous Employment Strategy. The Wingara Indigenous Employment Strategy 2019–2023 aims to position UTS as a world-leading university in Indigenous education and research by 2023 and to grow and develop our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce.
Our target
For the 2019–2023 strategy, UTS set the Indigenous employment target at three percent of its workforce to be achieved by 2023.
How we will achieve this
UTS has a number of employment and career development programs and pathways. To complement these, we have created an Expression of Interest (EOI) program. We are now seeking expressions of interest from individuals for a variety of roles at UTS that may become available in the future. Individuals joining the program will have their expression of interest actively matched against any suitable positions that may arise. We recruit for both academic (teaching, research) and non-academic positions (e.g. IT, Finance, Marketing). Roles at UTS include casual, fixed-term and continuing (permanent) opportunities, both part time and full-time, with flexible working arrangements available.
About you
The expressions of interest are only open to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, pursuant to the exemption granted to UTS under s126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). We will only consider applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Applicants must:
- be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
