Overview


Aboriginal Senior Project Officer - Intellectual Disability role at NSW Health. Employment Type: Temporary Part Time (up to 30 June 2026). Position Classification: Health Manager Level 2. Remuneration: $109,857.00 - $129,624.00 pa (+ superannuation + salary packaging options). Location: Negotiable within WNSWLHD. Hours per Week: 20. Applications Close: 14 September 2025 – 11:59pm.


About The Role


The Specialist Intellectual Disability Health team (SIDHT) is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical, Nursing, Social Work and Administration. The team is a full virtual service and provides tertiary level consultation service for people with an intellectual disability facing unmet health needs not met by usual care.

The ability to build connections and partnerships with Aboriginal People with intellectual disability in Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD). The ability to lead and conduct research to inform culturally safe care with Aboriginal People with an intellectual disability.

Building authentic relationships with Aboriginal People and their community in WNSWLHD to inform delivery of culturally safe and appropriate care to Aboriginal People with an intellectual disability. The position provides a flexible workplace within a hybrid model.

A typical day includes engagement with Aboriginal People and communities to develop and maintain networks and relationships as well as undertaking a review and formal research to evaluate existing resources that have been co-designed with Aboriginal People with intellectual disability.

The applicant will work closely with the Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team, Community Elders, Aboriginal Controlled Organisations and other key stakeholders.
