The Role
Senior Accountant to Senior Manager (Practice Lead)
This role is suited to an experienced public practice accountantoperatingat senior accountant or manager level, who is comfortable taking responsibility for client relationships and contributing at a senior level within the practice.
You will manage a significant client portfolio end to end, oversee compliance and advisory work, and act as a trusted delegate within Vertex Wealth. The role will be structured to reflect your experience, with scope to take on broader responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of SME and private group clients
* Reviewing financial statements and company income tax returns
* Providing tax advisory support, including structuring and tax optimisation
* Working across areas such as Division 7A, CGT, FBT and trust distributions
* Managing workflow,deadlinesand quality standards
* Reviewing work and supporting junior team members
* Contributing to steady improvements in systems and practice processes
* Liaising closely with the Director and the wider group, including R&D Tax and SMSF Audit
This is a senior role focused on quality,consistencyand professional standards.
About You
You are an experienced public practice accountant who values responsibility, clearexpectationsand a stable working environment. You'recomfortable managing clients, making decisions andmaintaininghigh standards, while working collaboratively within a small, professional team.
Required Experience
* Strong experience in Australian public practice
* Proven capability managing SME and private group clients
* End-to-end ownership of compliance engagements and client relationships
* Confidence communicating with clients on technical and commercial matters
Required Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Accountingor a related discipline
* CA or CPA qualification
* Tax advisory and structuring for more complex client groups
* Reviewing work and mentoring junior accountants
* Experience with multi-entity structures and higher-value portfolios

Remuneration for this role will be structured to reflect experience, capability and the level of responsibility assumed within the practice. Performance-based incentives are available and are aligned to contribution and client outcomes.
