ARC Disability Services Inc. is a community-based organisation with a long history in the Cairns and Far North, supporting children and adults who have a disability, their families, and support networks.

Everyday rewarding opportunities to support participants within our Programs team, including centre-based, community access, skill-building and group-based activities. Supports may include personal care, community participation, manual handling, mealtime and medication assistance, and supporting participants to build independence and achieve their NDIS goals.

We’re actively seeking passionate Disability Support Workers looking to progress to the next stage of their careers. If you’re driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities and are committed to a person-centred approach, we invite you to explore opportunities within our Programs team.

Demonstrated ability to engage positively with participants, families, carers and stakeholders to identify solutions and support outcomes.High standards of ethical behaviour, with sound knowledge of NDIS and/or Child Safety frameworks.Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet reporting requirements.Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with external service providers and community partners.Experience delivering group based and individual programs, activities or community supports.Knowledge of WHS requirement and safe work practices.Strong IT literacy including data management systems, case notes and reporting level of written and verbal communication skills including accurate record keeping.Experience supporting daily living and community participation activities to a high standard

Mandatory

Working with Children (Blue Card) and Disability Services (Yellow Card), and the right to work within AustraliaWillingness to undertake pre-employment drug and alcohol testingCurrent Queensland Driver LicenceRegistered and comprehensively insured vehicleRelevant Qualification or Certificate with relevant experience, or relevant extensive experience in Accommodation Settings, Disability or Community Services

Desirable

Minimum of 2 Years experience as a direct support worker or equivalent
