About the Role
We're seeking an experienced National Credit Manager to lead our Credit and Claims function across the business. Based at our Crestmead site (south of Brisbane), this is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on performance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
You'll play a critical role in protecting working capital, strengthening customer relationships, and lifting both customer and employee experience through best practice credit management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high performing Credit & Claims team, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant credit operations
* Own performance outcomes across working capital, debtors ledger, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and other key commercial metrics
* Ensure compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements across all credit activity
* Build strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders to maintain service levels and manage risk
* Provide subject matter expertise and risk input into strategic and business initiatives
* Oversee credit insurance, PPSR, legal actions and debt recovery strategies
* Act as the key point of contact for insurers, legal advisors, liquidators and administrators
About You
This role will suit a resilient, commercially minded credit leader who is comfortable operating in a demanding, operational environment. You understand that credit can be a challenging and often behind the scenes function, and you bring the confidence and emotional maturity to hold the line, influence outcomes, and stay focused on what's right for the business.
You're pragmatic in your approach, able to work effectively within established and sometimes manual processes, while also identifying and driving opportunities for improvement. Experience within construction, manufacturing or building products will be highly regarded, given the nature of our customers, contracts and operating environment.
We're looking for:
* Proven experience leading a complex credit function, ideally in a national or multi site business
* High levels of resilience, with the ability to manage pressure, challenge constructively and navigate difficult conversations
* Strong stakeholder influencing skills, including the confidence to push back and gain alignment across the business
* Experience working within manual or legacy processes, with a demonstrated focus on continuous improvement
* Outstanding people leadership capability, with a track record of building engaged, high performing teams
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and distil complex information
* Minimum 10 years' experience in credit management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
* Degree qualification or Credit Management certification (desirable)
