In the role of Senior Legal Counsel, Conduct & Accountability Team, you will join the People & Culture Team that's doubling down on making a tangible difference to customers while keeping it simple.
Key Responsibilities
Review and assess material risk and conduct events at NAB for the purposes of supporting NAB's accountability framework.
Manage the FAR breach reporting process including preparing and reviewing materials for, arranging meetings of, and presenting at, an internal forum.
Provide accurate legal advice as well as practical guidance on FAR compliance.
Assist with FAR compliance activities including Accountable Person registration and deregistration and change notifications to APRA & ASIC.
Proactively manage risk, including suitably documented and assessed controls, obligations and processes.
Support the broader Conduct & Accountability Team for the purposes of fostering both a learning culture and continuous improvement at NAB.
Liaise and build healthy working relationships with key stakeholders.
Maintain key operational documentation including handbooks and procedures guides.
Deliver basic FAR training to internal stakeholders.
Deliver strategic and process improvement initiatives for the Conduct & Accountability Team (as needed).
Qualifications & Experience
Be entitled to hold a valid, current practising certificate as an Australian Legal Practitioner under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (preferably 5 years PQE).
Have excellent drafting skills with a focus on high quality, plain language, grammar, spelling and attention to detail.
Have effective stakeholder engagement skills.
Have strong organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management.
Have strong presentation skills.
Be able to work at pace while coordinating and delivering high quality business outcomes.
Be resourceful with well‑developed problem‑solving skills.
Exhibit professional and ethical behaviour and ensure compliance with external legislation,
