Civil Construction Supervisor – Renewable Energy Projects
The Opportunity: HSB Resources is supporting the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. We are now seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to oversee complex civil works on site, ensuring execution is aligned with design, specifications, program, and safety requirements. This role is critical to the successful delivery of civil scopes across solar, BESS, and substation projects and will suit someone who thrives in technically detailed, fast-paced site environments.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Construction Manager, the Civil Construction Supervisor will be responsible for the day‐to‐day supervision of all civil construction activities on site. You will provide strong technical oversight, coordinate multiple interfaces, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, methodologies, and project standards.
Civil Construction Supervision
* Bulk earthworks and site preparation
* Site layout in accordance with IFC drawings
* Site levelling and grading, with close control of terrain and critical Z‐level checks, particularly at pile locations
* Construction of access roads and internal roads
* Drainage systems and stormwater management
* Foundations and footings
* Trenching works, including backfilling, culverts, and crossings
* Hardstands and laydown areas
* BESS civil platforms and foundations
* Substation and electrical building civil works, including bench civil works
* Fencing and site infrastructure
Piling & Geotechnical Oversight
* Supervise piling activities and pile installation quality in close coordination with the Mechanical Supervisor
* Maintain a civil focus on geotechnical requirements, foundation calculation packages, and applicable specifications
* Oversee stab sand supervision (where required) and ensure appropriate drainage of work areas
* Ensure accurate control of X, Y, and Z tolerances for pile positioning, top of pile levels, and plumbing
* Supervise pull‐out testing (where applicable) and manage pile remediation works if required
Compliance & Coordination
* Monitor contractor productivity and construction progress against the approved programme
* Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with IFC drawings, technical specifications, approved methodologies, and project standards
* Coordinate interfaces between civil, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning activities
* Supervise compliance with the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan
* Supervise compliance with OPW and SARA requirements
* Support tracker commissioning activities
* Conduct regular site walk‐downs in coordination with contractors and suppliers
* Assist with weekly coordination and planning meetings
About You
* Proven experience supervising civil works on large‐scale infrastructure, renewable energy, solar, BESS, or substation projects
* Strong understanding of earthworks, piling, drainage, foundations, and site infrastructure
* Demonstrated capability in managing technical detail, tolerances, and quality control on site
* Confident coordinating multiple contractors and disciplines in an active construction environment
* Strong safety leadership with a practical, solutions‐focused mindset
* Able to work autonomously on site while collaborating effectively with broader project teams
