About the role
In this role as part of an expanding team, you will report to the Head of Direct Debt & Illiquid Credit. Collaborating closely with a small group of Investment Analysts and Investment Managers you will be exposed to a variety of private and public debt investment opportunities in Australia. Cbus Direct Debt team invests in construction and real estate facilities as well as corporate and leveraged loans (bilateral and large syndicated transactions) as well as bonds.
The main responsibilities will include undertaking credit and relative value analysis on existing exposure and new corporate bond and loan opportunities. You will also be involved in reviewing credit risk to financial counterparties that Cbus has exposure to through its investment and trading activities.
The role offers a rare opportunity to cover credit across the corporate, property and financial sectors, the rating spectrum and to learn about different debt structures and financial instruments.
The successful attributes will be someone that has:
* 3 to 6 years' experience gained in the financial services industry (banking, fund management, debt advisory or corporate ratings) as a credit analyst across corporate and / or property sectors.
* A basic understanding of legal documentation for debt transactions.
* Clear attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate, apply and clearly articulate their knowledge of 'bottom up' company credit research.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
