C/ C++ Programmer
* Contract – Long Term
* Location – Sydney or Melbourne
* Security Clearance – Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
About the role:
An opportunity exists for a C/ C++ Programmer with strong experience in legacy application support and system optimisation. You'll be responsible for maintaining mainframe-hosted applications, resolving incidents, and contributing to system improvements in a 24/7 support environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and optimise legacy C/C++ applications on mainframe/Solaris platforms.
* Conduct testing and provide end-user support for legacy systems.
* Perform in-depth analysis and resolution of problem tickets.
* Monitor system performance and tune applications for stability.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and provide technical guidance.
* Support operational alerting, automation, and continuous improvement.
* Participate in Agile practices including JIRA, Confluence, and Kanban.
Required Experience:
* 3–5 years of experience in C/C++ development.
* Strong understanding of mainframe environments and middleware.
* Experience with XML/XSLT and batch processing technologies.
* Familiarity with automation using REXX.
* Exposure to Agile methodologies and practices.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Australian Citizenship.
* AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
