This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.
You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.
Your opportunity
The Faculty of Education is a passionate community of educators, researchers and professionals leading profound educational change. The Professional Experience Coordinator plays a vital role in bringing our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs to life by coordinating student placements across schools and early childhood settings. You will support students, staff and host partners through every step of the placement process from allocation to completion; ensuring our future teachers gain the real-world experience they need to succeed. You will make an impact by:
* Negotiating with host partners (early childhood education and care settings and schools) to place students consistent with the demand and capacity for placement opportunities.
* Acting as the key contact for students, staff and partner organisations on all placement-related matters, resolving issues and ensuring a seamless experience for all parties.
* Maintaining accurate placement records in systems such as SONIA, ensuring compliance with accreditation and reporting requirements.
* Supporting student readiness for placement by providing guidance on pre-placement checks, orientation and compliance processes.
What you will bring
You're a pro-active and organised professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality customer support and building strong relationships. You thrive in a collaborative environment, can manage competing priorities with ease, and bring excellent communication skills to every interaction. To succeed in this role, you will also need:
* A relevant qualification and at least two years' experience in an administrative, support or teaching role, or equivalent.
* High-level digital literacy, including experience with CRM systems, databases or equivalent platforms to track and manage information.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to build rapport and resolve issues professionally.
It's not essential, but we'd love it if you also had:
* Experience in the higher education, education or training sectors, particularly in placements, professional experience or student-facing support; or a background in education (such as an ITE degree, ECEC diploma, or teacher support/aide qualification).
* Familiarity using placement management systems such as SONIA.
