Our Queensland State Government client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Officer to join their team at the Ipswich location on a part-time basis, 3 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the facilities team, you will:
1. Act as the first point of contact for campus facilities issues, ensuring timely and effective maintenance and emergency response.
2. Manage a range of facilities operations, including maintenance of air-conditioning, fire systems, electrical and hydraulic services, and other infrastructure.
3. Oversee capital works and service delivery projects, ensuring compliance with WHS, budget, and quality standards.
4. Perform the roles of Workplace Health and Safety Advisor and Fire Safety Advisor, leading audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response training.
5. Coordinate operational logistics for events and activities to support outstanding visitor experiences.
6. Work closely with key stakeholders to identify facility issues and implement proactive solutions.
7. Champion a strong safety culture by adhering to WHS policies and encouraging safe work practices.
Skills & Experience
While there are no mandatory qualifications, the following certifications — or a willingness to rapidly acquire them — are highly desirable:
1. Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (WHS)
2. Fire Safety Advisor Certification
3. High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, EWP)
4. C Class Driver’s Licence
Note: You must be willing to complete and maintain required training for the Fire Safety Advisor and WHS Advisor roles.
