Consumer Experiences and Activations Coordinator

About the Role
Reporting to the Consumer Marketing & Experience Manager, the Consumer Experiences and Activations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional supporter and member experiences that strengthen connection and belonging to the Carlton Football Club.
This position works across the entire Club, with a particular focus on the Consumer Business function, ensuring that every activation and event reflects a member-first approach. The role coordinates and delivers a wide range of experiences and activations across Membership, Retail and Merchandise, and the Carlton College of Sport, while also coordinating match day activities for our AFL and AFLW programs.
Success in this role requires building strong internal relationships across Commercial, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure partner expectations are exceeded and every touchpoint enhances the customer experience.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in delivering consumer activations and unique fan experiences, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all in-bowl and out-of-bowl activations across AFL and AFLW home games, including match day hosts, Guard of Honour, Junior Mascots, and the Junior Baggers Zone.
Ensure all match day activities and member experiences align with the Member Belonging Strategy and genuinely enhance the Carlton Football Club customer experience.
Develop and deliver themed match day experiences in collaboration with Consumer, Commercial, Media, and Marketing teams.
Manage production run sheets, host notes, and game-day communications to ensure seamless delivery.
Liaise with internal departments and external partners (e.g. stadiums, AV teams, AFL, talent) to guarantee smooth execution.
Process invoices and arrange payments for match day costs.
Explore innovative technologies that elevate the member and supporter experience.
Support submission of match day funding requests to the AFL.
Provide reports on member experience and venue observations for all activations and experiences (including match day) to identify and maximise opportunities for improvement.
Act upon Member Survey data and reports as guided by the Consumer Marketing & Experiences Manager.
Coordinate "surprise and delight" moments for members in consultation with the Consumer Marketing & Experience Manager.
Identify and share special Carlton Football Club moments that strengthen connection and belonging.
Contribute to initiatives driven by the Member Belonging Strategy.
Liaise with venues to ensure accessibility needs for members and supporters are met for all home games, including seamless entry, seating, and departure.
Work with the Operations team to ensure member accessibility data is coordinated and in place.
Collaborate with the Data Insights team to identify areas for improving match day and event experiences.
Coordinate the Carlton Football Club match day banner in conjunction with the Cheer Squad.
Ensure risk and compliance standards are met across all venues.
Coordinate planning and delivery of consumer-facing events such as Open Training, Junior Clinics, Carlton College of Sport Open Days, Retail and Merchandise pop-up stores, and the annual Retail Warehouse Sale.
Liaise with the Carlton Venue team when activations are held at IKON Park (e.g. security, safety, amenities access, etc).
Coordinate member celebration events to recognise tenure and contribution.
Deliver "money-can't-buy" experiences (MCBE) and partner activations to strengthen member connection and belonging.
Support the Consumer and Commercial teams in identifying new activation opportunities that drive revenue and deepen member engagement.
Coordinate delivery of Consumer Team events that drive engagement and connection (as directed by the Head of Customer and Student Experience and GM Consumer Business).
Act as the primary liaison for supporter groups (excluding the Cheersquad), fostering strong relationships and facilitating inclusive, accessible events.
Ensure supporter group activities align with Carlton Football Club values and AFL integrity standards, with consistent principles of engagement across all groups.
Empower supporter group leaders to drive engagement and connection within their communities.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
1–2 years of experience in event delivery, preferably within a sporting environment.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver high-quality consumer activations and events, ideally within a sporting context.
Passion for working with members and supporters; strong customer focus.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
Strong organisational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
Operates with integrity and professionalism.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues across departments.
Displays genuine care and concern for others.
Availability to work weekends and evenings for match days and events; occasional interstate travel required.
