Commercial Sales Representative

\

The role involves providing sales and service support for all Simrad Fisheries products, which are primarily targeted at the commercial fisheries, sportfishing, and academic markets.

\

The East Coast commercial market spans from Maine to Virginia, with dealers/resellers responsible for selling and servicing Simrad products. This position will also support the sportfishing market as required.

\

Key Responsibilities Include:

\
\
1. Maintaining and expanding the dealer network in the region
\
2. Providing consistent sales training on both new and established products
\
3. Establishing contacts within the commercial fishing and academic markets
\
4. Familiarizing dealers/resellers/customers with all aspects of the product's capabilities
\
5. Acting as the first responder to product issues on vessels
\
6. Developing and maintaining knowledge of customer base, key potential customers and stakeholders, and competitive advantages
\
7. Completing any other tasks associated with Kongsberg Discovery activities as deemed appropriate
\
8. Attending trade shows and conferences
\
9. Basic understanding of electrical systems and hydro acoustic principles and applications
\
10. Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
\
11. High level of comfort with PCs, including Windows OS, serial and ethernet interfacing, and moderate troubleshooting
\
12. Traveling throughout the territory for periods generally not exceeding 10 days
\
13. Going to sea for periods up to 5 days
\
14. International travel for training and conferences
\
15. Willingness to work remotely in the East Coast area
\
16. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and meet deadlines
\
17. Understanding of commercial and academic fisheries sales markets
\
18. Personable approach to a wide variety of customer personalities and attitudes
\
19. Ability to communicate and train groups and individuals in various environments
\
20. Comfort level on commercial fishing vessels as well as high-end sport fishing vessels
\
21. Knowledge of commercial and sport fishing terminology and techniques is beneficial
\
