Head of Finance / Operations – Finance Brokerage

Salary: up to $120,000 + Superannuation
An established and well-regarded finance brokerage is seeking an experienced Head of Finance / Operations to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the business and lead its internal lending operations.
With a strong pipeline of work and a growing client base across residential and commercial finance, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the brokerage operates efficiently, compliantly and profitably. You'll work closely with the brokers, providing structure, leadership and operational discipline so they can focus on origination and client relationships.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a credit analyst or loan processing background who understands lending workflows end to end and is ready to step into a broader management role with real influence over how the business operates and scales.
The Role
As Head of Finance / Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operational function of the brokerage. This includes managing people, processes and systems to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients, brokers and lenders.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading the end-to-end operations of the brokerage, from application through to settlement and post-settlement
* Managing, mentoring and developing a team of brokers and credit analysts
* Ensuring loan processing workflows are efficient, accurate and well-managed
* Reviewing, implementing and improving operational processes, systems and controls
* Maintaining compliance with lender, regulatory and internal requirements
* Acting as a central point of contact between brokers, analysts, lenders and external stakeholders
* Providing reporting, insights and operational oversight to support business growth and performance
About You
You are a hands-on operational leader with a strong background in lending and a deep understanding of how brokerages function.
You will bring:
* Experience as a credit analyst, loan processor or senior operations professional within a finance or mortgage brokerage
* Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial lending processes
* A highly organised, detail-focused and process-driven approach
* Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams
* A commercial mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies and support scalable growth
* Broker accreditation is not required; however, solid lending knowledge is essential

* 2 Brokers
* 3 Credit Analysts
This role has direct responsibility for leading, coordinating and supporting the team.
