2027 Nuclear Graduate Program (STEM, Policy and Corporate)

The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is a historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting‐edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for a decade to come.

Embark on a career‐defining journey with the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) at a pivotal moment in Australia's defence history. The acquisition of conventionally‐armed, nuclear‐powered submarines represents a monumental leap forward, not just in military capability but in technological and economic advancement. This initiative is at the heart of Australia's future security and prosperity, offering a unique blend of challenges and rewards.

The ASA Nuclear Graduate Program has two distinct pathways, STEM (Technical) and Policy & Corporate, regardless of which pathway you choose each will immerse you in the heart of operations and offer a comprehensive view of Australia's submarine capability through the lens of the AUKUS partnership where you will be contributing to a wider range of critical tasks.

Diverse Rotations: Gain comprehensive exposure to the ASA through structured internal rotations across core business areas, designed to build capability and provide a broad understanding of internal operations. Graduates may also have the opportunity to undertake an external rotation with one of Australia's leading nuclear agencies or key industry partners. This integrated model supports a deeper understanding of the broader nuclear ecosystem and enables you to decide where you can make your mark.

NOTE: The nature of our program offers diversification in roles and experiences, which may require you to permanently and/or temporarily relocate. In these circumstances, the ASA offers a generous relocation and allowances package. For more information, please refer to the ASA Enterprise Agreement via: ASA Enterprise Agreement 2024‐2027.

Tailored Development: The Nuclear Graduate Program combines experiential learning, formal tertiary level training, targeted mentoring, and one‐on‐one coaching with a dedicated pathway manager. You will have access to specialised training, and opportunities to engage with national and international experts, all designed to build capability and advance your career within ASA.

Career Advancement: Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will transition into a permanent operational position within the ASA. Additional advancement opportunities may be offered to graduates, enabling accelerated career growth and long‐term professional success.
