We are seeking a Lawyer / Associate (3-4 years’ PAE) to join our Corporate (Energy, Resources & Infrastructure) practice. The role can be based in any Mills Oakley office, with a preference for Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.

The Role

You will work closely with our market-leading team, led by Partners Lachlan Drew, Natalie Lonergan, Jeremy Rees, Sarah Pick, and Yannis Vrodos. You will undertake a range of work on complex, strategic energy, resources and infrastructure transactions, including renewables, mining and government contracting. Experience in front-end drafting of commercial contracts, including procurement documents, construction contracts and corporate contracting is preferred. Experience in running and administering procurement processes would be favourable. The role also involves advising on general commercial contracting, statutory and contractual interpretation, regulatory advice, and corporate advice and transactions in the energy sector. You will have the ability to develop a strong network with colleagues at Mills Oakley and across our market-leading clients.

Responsibilities

- Experience in project and people management within a legal practice context.
- Provide front-end drafting of commercial contracts, including procurement and construction contracts.
- Advise on general commercial contracting, statutory and contractual interpretation, regulatory advice, and corporate transactions in the energy sector.
- Develop and maintain a strong network with colleagues and clients.

Requirements

- 3-4 years’ PAE in a Corporate (Energy, Resources & Infrastructure) environment or equivalent experience
- Excellent academic record with robust legal skills and practical mindset
- Proactive, integrated team player with ability to work across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to work to tight timeframes and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop business relationships
- Interest in business development, marketing and thought leadership
