* Salary Range Band 7 $111,873 to $125,191 plus 12% super
* Full time permanent position

About City of Port Phillip

We are a vibrant and diverse inner‑city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programmes and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What's the role all about

Manage and deliver accurate, efficient, and analytical assessment of subdivision approvals and certifications under relevant legislation, while also assessing other planning applications and providing expert guidance on subdivision‑related matters.

What you might do

* Manage the subdivision approvals processes for the Statutory Planning team through SPEAR on‑line and Council's Pathways database.
* Determine subdivision matters under the provisions of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Subdivision Act 1988 and relevant regulations and Council's Schedule of Delegation.
* Produce accurate and efficient analytical assessment of subdivision applications, and certifications with recommendations and planning applications.
* Be the point of contact regarding all land subdivision related issues, including discussion and resolution of issues.
* Assist in developing improved effectiveness and efficiency in the office.
* Manage the SPEAR system including arranging staff authorisations.
* Provide efficient and courteous customer service to all enquiries and promote positive interactions with service users.


Who we are looking for

* Extensive experience in surveying and/or subdivision approvals is essential, preferably at local government level.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications
* Experience leading and working in a team and / or inter‑disciplinary environment.
* Current Victorian Driver's License
