About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Corporate Services, you'll oversee the provision of workplace health and safety, rehabilitation and wellness services at Council. With four direct reports and broad strategic responsibility, you'll lead a dedicated team to deliver strategies, policies, programs and systems that promote and support a safety-focused culture, whilst ensuring legislative compliance and appropriate risk management. You'll work in partnership with leaders at all levels to provide timely, responsive, and consistent advice, with a focus on embedding key safety practices and providing a safe and healthy work environment.
Who We're Looking For
* A collaborative and strategic leader with exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to service excellence and stakeholder engagement.
* A degree-qualified professional with extensive workplace health and safety experience at a senior level.
* Demonstrated experience leading and guiding a high-performing team and managing the delivery of systems, programs and services that support safe workplace practices.
* Proven ability in setting policy direction and leading change initiatives that promote and embed a strong safety culture.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and projects while ensuring ongoing legislative compliance and meeting corporate objectives.
