Team Leader – Utilities and WSC – (2600002X)
About the role
Stantec is committed to reinforcing our presence in New South Wales and growing our capability in this area. As a result, our Wollongong office is currently seeking a Team Leader with Utilities and WSC experience to join our young and energetic team to continue this success. Reporting to the Group Leader – Infrastructure, you will be responsible for leading the Wollongong based Utilities & WSC team, collaborating with the Sydney based Utilities & WSC team and working on major Utilities and Sydney Water developer works projects pertaining to the design of infrastructure for major transport, and community development projects.
The team leadership responsibilities will be appointed on a fixed-term basis until the end of 2026, with a strong likelihood of transitioning to a permanent position thereafter.
Day‐to‐Day Tasks
Team Lead
* Managing a team of engineers, designers and drafters.
* Provide mentoring and training to develop staff experience.
* Resource allocation and utilisation assessments.
* Client management and Business Development.
* Undertake employee PDP's.
Utilities
* Coordination and management of Utility Design teams.
* Working with all utilities authority's.
* Assisting with projects from lodgements to completion.
* Collaborating with clients to design innovative solutions to meet their needs and community expectations.
* Data analysis, interpretation and assessment to achieve project goals.
* Attendance at project/client meetings and engaging in community consultation.
* Managing projects financials, invoicing, program, quality etc.
* Review applications, designs and any other Utility documentation prior to submissions to the client or Utility Authority.
Sydney Water
* Coordination and management of Sydney Water Design teams.
* Assisting on projects from Application to Project Completion.
* Working with clients to design innovative solutions to meet their needs and community expectations.
* Data analysis, interpretation and assessment to achieve project goals.
* Attendance at project/client meetings and engaging in community consultation.
* Managing projects financials, invoicing, programme, quality etc.
* Review applications, designs and any other Sydney Water documentation prior to submissions to the client or Sydney Water.
Qualifications
* Demonstrate an interest in leading a team contributing to the development of young engineers whilst providing rigorous financial governance.
* Some understanding of utility authority policies and procedures.
* A demonstrated design background with sound technical knowledge.
* Previous experience in project management on civil projects.
* Previous experience with relevant computing packages including AutoCAD, and MS packages (Excel, Word, Project).
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
