Job Description
The Academic Program Coordinator (Health Science) is part of the academic leadership team within Edith Cowan College and plays a vital role in assuring the quality and consistency of academic programs, the provision of innovative and effective teaching practices, alignment with the expectations of Edith Cowan University, and most importantly, successful student outcomes. Building and maintaining relationships with key contacts at Edith Cowan University is essential.
The Academic Program Coordinator oversees the student experience; manages teaching staff and regularly reviews the course content to ensure that courses are current to adequately prepare students for university studies; and that contemporary approaches to pedagogy are adopted in teaching, delivery and assessment.. While having some teaching responsibilities, the Academic Program Coordinator is accountable for ensuring programs and Units meet all accreditation requirements, including conducting a major course review during each course accreditation period.
We are seeking a proactive, flexible, motivated, creative and influential individual to be a part of our Academic team. You need to demonstrate a passion and drive for learning and teaching through the delivery of an enhanced student experience leading to successful student outcomes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate we seek will have the following:
* Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a relevant Health Science discipline area, or undergraduate level with extensive relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience in contributing to course and curriculum development including meeting accreditation requirements
* Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership in teaching and/or curriculum design
* Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of high quality innovative teaching at the tertiary education level
* Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning
* The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic and administrative staff across the college and with senior university academics
* Demonstrated computer literacy relevant to the role, including competency with the MS Office suite and learning management systems (Moodle, Canvas etc.)
