Hangan Steel is a growing Australian structural steel company delivering high-quality steel fabrication and installation across commercial, industrial and architectural projects. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced on-site structural steel lead installer to take charge of site installations and small crews on projects throughout South-East Queensland.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who knows structural steel inside and out, and can confidently run site works from set out through to completion. You will be responsible for safe, efficient installation, crew coordination and maintaining Hangan Steel's high standards on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and carry out onsite installation of structural steel including columns, beams, portals, staircases and architectural steel
* Supervise and mentor installers and riggers on site
* Read and interpret shop drawings, erection drawings and plans
* Coordinate lifts, rigging and crane operations
* Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, OH&S requirements and site-specific safety plans
* Liaise with Project Managers, builders and other trades
* Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently
* Maintain quality control and productivity on-site
About You
* Proven experience installing structural steel on commercial or industrial sites
* Previous experience as a leading hand or supervisor will be highly regarded
* Strong knowledge of steel erection methods, tolerances and sequencing
* Ability to lead by example with a strong safety mindset
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Reliable, organised and capable of running jobs independently
Required Tickets and Licences
* Construction White Card
* Digging and Rigging (RB or higher preferred)
* Working at Heights
* EWP (highly regarded)
* Valid driver's licence

Location
This position is based out of our Caloundra West factory. Projects are across South-East Queensland, with daily travel to sites required.
