Your new company

A successful manufacturing SME are looking for a competent and hard-working individual to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity where your expertise in bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and general accounting will play a key role in supporting effective business operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and can confidently manage accounting processes from end to end. Reporting into the CEO, key responsibilities include:

* Managing end‑to‑end accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, customer billing, and overdue account follow‑up.
* Performing monthly AP and AR processes, including reconciliations, ledger updates, statements, and reporting.
* Maintaining cashflow forecasts, ageing reports, and reconciling sales with dispatch records.
* Reconciling raw materials, finished goods, and consumables stock, and preparing monthly stock journals and variance investigations.
* Preparing monthly journals covering accruals, stock movements, tax adjustments, and general ledger entries.
* Completing bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Managing BAS preparation, lodgement, and PAYG obligations, and assisting with annual budgeting.
* Processing weekly and monthly payroll, including reconciliations, leave balances, and payroll journals.
* Handling superannuation uploads, payroll tax compliance, and workers' compensation updates/claims.
* Preparing audit documentation and liaising with external auditors for review periods.
* Assist with general office administration, including mail, phone support, calendar management, and meeting documents.

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience as a Bookkeeper within a small business is essential, preferably within the manufacturing, construction or industrial space.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, including Xero, MYOB and Attache are ideal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the team.
- Be a proactive and adaptable individual with excellent communication skills that can be utilised both internally and externally.
