About the Role
Flying Doctor Patient Transport is seeking Ambulance Attendants and Paramedics for a casual role in Bendigo. The position offers a base rate of $34.82‐$40.18 per hour plus additional benefits. You will provide high‐quality patient care during on‐road transport, working collaboratively with team members and maintaining compliance with RFDS policies and NEPT regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform patient assessment and intervention on‐road.
* Provide high‐quality patient care and treatment during on‐road transport.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders.
* Assess the effectiveness of any intervention in accordance with RFDS MPC guidelines and NEPT regulations.
* Perform independently and problem‐solve within established policies and procedures.
* Work collaboratively with other team members.
* Maintain an understanding of RFDS MPC policies and procedures and NEPT regulations to support best practice and patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working in the NEPT sector (desirable but not essential).
* Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Full Drivers Licence, Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
* Ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions.
* Availability to pick up shifts across 7 days occasionally when required.
* All applicants must be or have worked as an Ambulance Transport Assistant (ATA), hold a Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or an equivalent qualification recognised by RFDS or DHHS.
* Evidence of successful completion of required clinical placements and a Clinical Skills Assessment, completion of a minimum of 400 hours operational stretcher experience under direct supervision of a clinical instructor, and successful completion of a clinical skills assessment (e.g., Stage 8).
* For registered nurses only: must have AHPRA nursing registration, evidence of completed nursing graduate year or documented work history within a hospital setting (Emergency Department, Cardiac Unit, High Dependency Unit, Intensive Care, Theatre), or evidence of 400 clinically supervised hours within another registered ambulance service.
