Project Engineer Opportunity
Wood is currently seeking a qualified Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team based in Gladstone. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating technical support, providing expert advice, and delivering solutions across the plant.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain detailed design deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality and timely approvals
* Consistently complete tasks and projects on schedule, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills
* Oversee the development, review, and approval of key project documentation, including scope of work, datasheets, and baseline documents
* Collaborate with external parties such as Engineering Service Providers, vendors, and construction contractors to manage interfaces and ensure smooth project execution
* Support project leaders and specialists in continuous improvement activities, such as internal workshops and project gate reviews
* Verify calculations, equipment specifications, and vendor submissions
* Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and design practices
* Address queries from site construction and commissioning teams, ensuring clarity and resolution
* Involvement in the design of civil and structural installations in compliance with Australian standards, QLD regulations, and legal requirements
* Demonstrate strong safety leadership and ensure team compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and procedures
* Optimise resources and drive initiatives to minimise costs, reduce waste, and achieve efficiency in project execution
Qualifications and Skills:
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering
* Experience with SpaceGass software is advantageous
* Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and continuously improving plant engineering systems and processes, preferably with a mining background
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of managing multiple tasks effectively
* Ability to prioritise work effectively
* RPEQ (Structural) registration (current or eligibility) is highly desirable
