ABOUT THE ROLE
New Chapter is expanding our team of dedicated, passionate, and committed Support Workers to provide direct support to participants with complex support needs.
Disability Support Workers will be self-motivated individuals with a strong values-based approach.
They will also need to demonstrate a problem-solving approach with the ability to think on their feet under pressure.
Disability Support Workers will report directly to the Team Leaders and/or Program Experience Leaders.
They will work closely with other Disability Support Workers and Team Leaders within the team.
Disability Support Workers work with children and adults all over Hobart and the greater region including Huonville, New Norfolk and Brighton and everywhere in between and will need to demonstrate the ability to travel.
Experience and/or qualifications in complex care, working with young children engaged with child safety services, behaviours of concern, PEG feeding, recognise healthy body systems and assist clients with medication, first aid and CPR are a must
All positions will be offered as casual with the potential for permanency after the probation period is completed.

REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE A MUST
Relevant qualifications, or the willingness to obtain
Flexible and adaptable in approach
Understanding of NDIS and NDIS Quality & Safeguards
Rights to work in Australia
Current driver's licence
Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain)
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
Assist clients with medications and recognise healthy bodies
Current First Aid & CPR certificate
Experience working with complex care individuals that may display behaviours of concern
Experience working with participants who require PEG feeding
Experience working with children and young people engaged with child safety services, including providing trauma-informed supports
NDIS Worker Screening
Related qualifications (e.g., Certificate in Individual Support, Aged Care and/or Home and Community Care)
