Rural Youth Mental Health Support Worker
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rural Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Western NSW. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, a strong understanding of mental health principles, and excellent communication skills.
Job Description
This is a full-time opportunity based in Dubbo, Cobar, Orange, Parkes, or Mudgee. As a Rural Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide individualized, holistic, and collaborative mental health support to young people aged 12-25 years across various communities in Western NSW.
You will work collaboratively with community service partners to reduce barriers for young people to engage with services and minimize the impact of mental health challenges. Your role will involve:
* Developing positive working relationships with young people to support their mental health recovery journey
* Coordinating with other service providers to ensure services are delivered
* Linking young people to appropriate services to facilitate recovery
* Contributing to a small and supportive team environment
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Experience working in rural communities and developing/maintaining community connections
* A holistic, person-centered approach with a calm, reassuring, and confident manner
* Experience conducting assessments, providing case management, psychological interventions, counseling, or group work
* A natural team player with the capacity to work independently and autonomously
* A relevant degree qualification in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field
* A current driver's license
