About the role
Assisting residents with personal care and other activities of daily living, maintaining freedom of choice, independence, privacy and dignity.
Assists maintenance of a hygienic and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
Communicates effectively with all members of the team, residents and their families in delivery of resident care.
Observes residents and reports any changes in resident health or wellbeing, incidents or adverse events to the nurse in charge on shift.
Carries out duties in accordance with scope of practice and Eastern Health's policies and procedures. Demonstrates attention to the needs of residents and their families in respect of their privacy and dignity.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
* Certificate 111 in Health Services Assistant or equivalent
* A strong commitment to high quality care
* The ability to work as part of a diverse team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
