About The Role
The Culture and Inclusion Officer sits within the People, Culture and Safety Branch and plays a key role supporting initiatives that strengthen inclusion, engagement and workplace culture across the City of Melbourne. This is a highly collaborative coordination role. Working closely with colleagues across the wider organisation, you'll provide hands on support to culture, engagement and inclusion programs, supporting the smooth running of initiatives, clear communications and strong stakeholder engagement. The role is focused on quality delivery and follow through, coordinating programs, supporting surveys and events, preparing communications and maintaining strong project administration that enables great outcomes.
In This Role You Will
4. Coordinate the planning, logistics and delivery of culture, engagement and inclusion initiatives, events, workshops and campaigns
5. Provide end-to-end administrative and coordination support, including scheduling, materials, communications and follow-up activities
6. Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, trackers, calendars and registers
7. Support engagement and inclusion surveys, including communications, scheduling, data collation and preparation of basic reports
8. Draft clear, inclusive internal communications such as emails, intranet content, presentations and briefing materials
9. Work with leaders, facilitators, employee networks, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support well-coordinated delivery
10. Champion and contribute ideas to improve diversity, equity and inclusion practices
About You
You're known as the one who "get stuff done", highly organised, reliable and at your best when you're keeping things running smoothly. You've done this before – with experience coordinating programs, events and cross‐functional projects, ideally in employee, culture, engagement, inclusion or community focused environments. You're a born juggler, comfortable handling multiple priorities, a crystal‐clear communicator and natural connector of stakeholders. You understand the importance of inclusion and bring a practical, thoughtful approach to your work.
What Your Experience Might Look Like
11. Experience coordinating programs, events, workshops or initiatives in a large or complex organisation with a diverse workforce
12. Strong organisational skills, with experience maintaining trackers, calendars and documentation
13. Experience supporting engagement, DEI or change initiatives through coordination or communications
14. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to produce meaningful and targeted outcomes
15. Public sector experience is welcomed but not essential
