The Role
As the Nurse Clinical Specialist - Trachoma, you will support the delivery of theNT Trachoma Program and provide services to providers, remote clinics and clients to improve the identification, screening, treatment, management and prevention of trachoma and trichiasis for Indigenous Australians.
You'll undertake disease surveillance, and other public health nursing duties, participate in an on-call roster as required, and travel to remote communities for up to a week at a time.
The aim of the NT Trachoma Program is to eliminate trachoma as a public health issue in endemic communities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
* Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
* High-level clinical knowledge and skills in Trachoma or related fields, supported by strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to a learning culture through clinical guidance and mentoring.
* Ability to travel to remote communities by 4WD or light aircraft as required.
* A current manual NT driver's licence (or eligible to obtain) and be confident driving a manual vehicle in regional and remote settings.
* A current NT recognised vaccination certificate (or eligible to obtain).
