About the Role

As Head of Department, you will lead curriculum development and the delivery of senior schooling aligned with school and departmental priorities. You will support the delivery of the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning quality. You will foster strong, positive relationships among students, staff, and the wider school community. Reporting to the Principal or delegate, you will help create a collaborative, high-performing environment that supports every learner's success. The appointment is set for 24 November 2025; start date is negotiable based on the successful applicant's current employment circumstances. This position may offer access to subsidised housing and locality allowances for eligible employees.

Your Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight of curriculum development and delivery across Maths, Science, and Technologies, ensuring alignment with school and departmental priorities.
* Drive excellence in teaching and learning by supporting faculty teams, promoting best practices, and focusing on continuous improvement to enhance student outcomes.
* Monitor student behaviour patterns and wellbeing, offer targeted support for case-managed students, and cultivate a positive, inclusive school culture.
* Track and analyse senior student data to identify those at risk; design and implement targeted interventions to keep students on track to achieve the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
* Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs with understanding of the Australian Curriculum (Version 9), QCE, QCIA, SET planning, VET, and student transition pathways.
* Strengthen partnerships with industry to ensure learners are equipped to succeed.
* Line manage VET delivery and oversee engagement in vocational pathways.
* Teaching experience in Mathematical Methods, Physics, and/or Chemistry would be advantageous.
