We are seeking an experienced and reliable Logistics Officer to join a major SA government department on a 12-month contract, covering a maternity leave period. This role is ideal for a proactive, organised, and safety-focused individual who enjoys working in a warehouse environment and contributing to smooth operational outcomes. About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised store environment
* Apply and promote safety measures for yourself, team members, visitors, and the public
* Pick, pack, and deliver goods accurately and on time
* Check and verify orders, invoices, requisitions, and stock levels
* Carry out purchasing and salvage activities
* Assist with stock audits and internal governance checks
* Perform inventory control tasks, including packing and picking duties
* Create purchase orders and process receipts with accuracy
Qualifications
* Experience in inventory, stores, or warehousing operations
* Current high-risk forklift licence (desirable)
* Current Class C driver's licence (essential)
* A basic understanding of procurement and inventory processes
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Basic skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Willingness to travel to site as required
