Join the Public Transport Authority's Accounting Services team and play a key role in delivering an efficient, accurate and customer‐focused Accounts Payable function. In this position, you'll be responsible for reviewing, processing and reconciling high volumes of invoices in line with legislation, policies and procedures, including the Financial Management Act, Treasurer's Instructions and GST requirements. You will manage electronic workflows, ensure timely approval and payment of supplier accounts, process both manual and system‐generated transactions, and maintain the integrity of Accounts Payable interfaces. With a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance and stakeholder communication, this role supports the smooth operation of payment processes and contributes to the organisation's financial governance.

We are seeking a proactive team member with relevant experience in Accounts Payable and the ability to work confidently within a computerised accounting environment using FMIS and electronic workflow tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to analyse data, resolve discrepancies and manage competing deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. Your organisational capability, customer‐focused approach and commitment to accuracy will ensure the delivery of high‐quality service to both internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications

* Demonstrated understanding of all Accounts Payable functions and relevant experience in an accounts payable environment, including proficiency in rules, regulations and processes.
* Relevant experience in a computerised environment with a Financial Management Information System and use of spreadsheets within an accounting context.
* Demonstrated understanding of an electronic invoice workflow tool using an FMIS.
* Sound conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and data.

Eligibility

For permanent appointment to the PTA, you must be an Australian citizen, have Permanent Residency status, or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia at the time of your application.

To be eligible for a fixed‐term opportunity, you must hold a current visa valid at the time of application and remain valid until at least 31 March 2027.
