Who will you be working with?
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Wabtec’s team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects, including signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions, with a focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
How will you make a difference?
As a Senior Signalling Engineer, you will provide high-level technical support, leadership, and supervision related to design, checking, and validating signaling systems in accordance with statutory, regulatory, company, and client standards. You will also mentor junior engineers and guide them in system design and competency development.
What will your typical day look like?
* Prepare schedules for preliminary and detailed signaling system designs complying with statutory and regulatory requirements
* Monitor progress and initiate remedial actions to ensure project completion on time and within budget
* Supervise the preparation of documentation for standards and specifications for signaling systems
* Provide high-level technical support for signaling projects
* Verify signaling designs and application data as an independent checker
* Support complex signaling projects as a Team Leader
* Participate in factory acceptance testing and site testing of signaling systems and equipment
* Participate in signaling systems commissioning
* Report on signaling projects as required
What do we want to know about you?
You must have:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent
* 10 to 15 years of experience as a Signalling Professional in Australia
* Level 2 Signalling Competency from MTM/Vline, ARTC, or QR
* RPEV or REPQ, or eligibility to achieve this accreditation
Preferred qualifications:
* IRSE Accreditation
* Knowledge of Computer-Based Interlocking (CBI) systems
* Experience conducting factory acceptance and principles testing of CBI systems
* Knowledge of grade crossing predictors and other level crossing technologies
Additional duties outside core responsibilities may be performed with adequate training provided.
