HSW Specialist - Workplace Safety and Risk Management Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled HSW Specialist to join our team at The Geelong Clinic in Victoria.
The role of the HSW Specialist has overall responsibility for developing and implementing a comprehensive Site Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Improvement Plan. This involves partnering with and supporting the Hospital Executive Team, Managers, Supervisors, and the Health and Safety Committee (HSC) to deliver the Site Improvement Plan. The role also provides management system technical advice and support to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and accreditation requirements.
* Build capability and enhance accountability for safety among Managers, Supervisors, and HSC members through coaching and influencing to implement and embed the HSW Management System and programs.
* Display and promote HSW practices through active field-based leadership and engagement.
* Drive safe systems of work, conduct quality incident investigations, and deliver visible leadership through education, coaching, and monitoring programs.
* Consult with Managers, Supervisors, HSC, contractors, and third parties on operational safety issues, providing advice and assistance to identify opportunities and solutions that improve HSW outcomes.
* Participate in risk management activities, including facilitating risk and workplace assessments, developing SOPs, conducting control verifications, participating in assurance activities, and leading LTI investigations.
* Conduct performance monitoring activities, such as preparing site HSW reports, and develop, implement, and monitor gap closure plans in consultation with the Site Executive Team.
* Monitor and review Site HSW performance with the Site Executive Team to identify trends and hotspots, and celebrate successes.
* Participate in regulator inspections related to HSW.
