Role
As part of our Defence Delivery Organisation, the Ship Engineering Manager will be responsible for the installation, test and ultimate delivery of combat systems on naval platforms.
* Perform extensive stakeholder engagement and coordination with the ship builder and the teams responsible for design, production, installation and test.
* Plan and have oversight of installation, integration, harbour‐based testing and sea trials.
* Manage resources effectively and navigate complex technical challenges to achieve program success.
* Guide engineering planning that balances and addresses threat environment, missions and schedule and the broader platform and program schedule.
About You
* Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline (electrical engineering, computer science, etc.) and/or equivalent relevant experience.
* 10+ years of systems engineering in an ASDEFCON context.
* 5+ years in a leadership or management role, fostering talent development, team cohesion and a culture of continuous improvement.
* Designing, integrating and managing military systems.
* Experience with software‐intensive systems.
* Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.
* Managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the customer.
* Developing and implementing strategic plans that align engineering activities with business objectives.
* Managing complex projects with a focus on long‐term value creation and organisational growth.
* Ability to navigate complex technical challenges while ensuring solutions are innovative and aligned with strategic goals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, conveying complex technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
