The role
We're looking for an exceptional senior leader to join us as Head of Brand, Sponsorships & PR on an 16-month parental leave contract. This high-profile role leads the brand, sponsorship, and public relations strategy for one of Australia's most recognised financial services brands.
Reporting to the General Manager of Brand, Media, Sponsorships and PR, you'll lead a team of 8 (including 4 direct reports) and will manage complex stakeholder relationships, and oversee our ATL brand, sponsorship and PR initiatives. You'll play a key role in embedding robust governance and risk management while leading a high-performance team to achieve our business goals.
What you'll do
* Brand: Execute a comprehensive brand strategy, overseeing multi-channel campaigns (TV, radio, digital, outdoor, cinema). Ensure all major brand initiatives align with business objectives within budget and deliver ROI.
* Sponsorships: Develop and implement a multi-year sponsorship strategy, managing high-value sports partnerships and driving impactful activations that elevate brand exposure and deepen customer engagement.
* Public Relations: Lead both proactive and reactive PR strategies to protect and enhance our brand reputation. Manage high-profile issues, drive media engagement, and provide strategic communication advice to senior leaders
* Leadership & Governance: Embed best practice governance, risk, and compliance across all activities. Lead, coach, and inspire your team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Collaboration & Innovation: Collaborate cross-functionally with product, underwriting, and wider marketing teams. Leverage data-driven insights and new technologies (including AI tools) to innovate and optimise impact and productivity.
What experience you'll bring
* 10+ years' senior experience across brand, marketing, and ATL campaigns.
* Strong leadership experience, capable of guiding a team, managing cross-functional relationships, and driving strategic initiatives to success.
* Proven success leading high-profile brand campaigns across TV, outdoor, cinema, digital, and radio.
* Hands-on experience managing sports sponsorships and delivering impactful activations.
* Strong PR experience, including both proactive storytelling and crisis/issues management.
* A track record of operating in complex, highly regulated industries (financial services experience highly regarded).
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at executive and board level.
* Strong commercial acumen, with advanced skills in budgeting, reporting, and measuring ROI.
* Tertiary qualification in marketing, business, or related discipline.
