Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise daily operations related to train unloading and ship loading schedules.
* Evaluate and promote adherence to safety, production, and efficiency targets.
The role operates on a 2 days, 2 nights on 5 days off / 2 days, 3 nights on 4 days off / 3 days, 2 nights on 5 days off roster. To succeed in this position, the following skills and qualifications are essential:
* Trade qualification is desirable
* WA 'C' Class Drivers' License
* Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and understanding of port and rail operations with generic process plant policies and procedures
* Ability to undertake problem-solving investigations and reviews and plan work according to predicted operational requirements
* Excellent English verbal and written communication and computer literacy skills
* Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
* National Police clearance is required to obtain MSIC
The ideal candidate should be residing in the Geraldton area or prepared to relocate at their own cost.
About the Role:
* Ensure all statutory and organizational OHS&E requirements are met by fostering a preventative culture among direct reports
* Provide ongoing leadership and mentoring to the team
* Lead by example by consistently demonstrating respectful behaviors and actions
* Ensure efficient utilization of labor, parts, and equipment resources
* Be the first point of contact for Operator Maintainers regarding production-related issues
* Conduct daily reporting to Superintendent Operations on activities, downtime, and production issues
* Collaborate with Superintendent Operations to ensure safe and efficient access to port equipment for planned maintenance purposes
* Allocate shift tasks to Operator/Maintainers as per the scheduled maintenance plan and control room operations, train, and ship loading
* Approve all permits involved with working at heights, confined space, and all forms of positive isolations as a Level 2 Authorized Isolator and Permitting Officer
