About theRole
Working within ateam of nine skilled trades personnel, this role will performrepair, preventative maintenance and servicing procedures onCouncil's diesel and heavy earthmoving equipment and agriculturaltractors and implements, to ensure they are maintained in a safeand reliable condition. You'll also mentor apprentices andencourage the next generation of talented DieselFitters.
Aboutyou
Ourideal candidate will have:
* TradeCertificate - MEM Diesel Fitter or AUR Mobile PlantTechnician with the ability to achieve accreditation for allcompetencies listed in Attachment 'A' of thePosition Description
* High level ofknowledge and experience in the repair of diesel and heavyearthmoving equipment, agricultural tractors and implements, toinclude; hydraulic, pneumatic, air conditioning, autoelectrical repairs and minor welding repairs
* Knowledge andability to keep up to date with modern practices relevant tofleet servicing and repair procedures
* Well-developedtechnical, diagnostic, and analytical skills relevant tomechanical servicing and repair procedures
* Basic keyboardand computer literacy skills (or the ability to acquire)relevant to Outlook, Word, Excel, CES and Kronos WorkforceTimekeeper applications
* Knowledge anduse of various techniques to facilitate the appropriatetraining of apprentices
* Current"MR" class driver's licence, with thecapacity to obtain a "HR" class driver'slicence within six months
* ForkliftLicence, Dogman Certificate and Refrigerant Licence are alldesirable
