Your Role As the Bookkeeper, you will manage a portfolio of clients and ensure their financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant. Your responsibilities will include: Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact for day-to-day bookkeeping queries. Completing end-to-end bookkeeping in Xero, including bank reconciliations and transaction coding. Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS accurately and on time, particularly during busy BAS periods. Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple clients. Managing payroll processing, including reconciliations and reporting. Maintaining clean and accurate balance sheets, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Preparing clear, well-structured workpapers for accountant review. Liaising directly with clients to request information, answer queries and explain results in a clear, professional way. Working collaboratively with the bookkeeping team and supporting shared client responsibilities where needed. Managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Reviewing your own work to ensure accuracy, completeness and high-quality output. Identifying issues early and resolving or escalating them appropriately. Contributing to a positive, high-performing team culture What You Bring Proven bookkeeping experience managing multiple clients. Strong working knowledge of Xero and confidence across multiple client files and industries. Experience preparing BAS/IAS and working to strict lodgement deadlines. Experience with payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ability to manage competing priorities, particularly during busy BAS periods, while maintaining accuracy. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, accurate work. Clear communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients. A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach. A genuine interest in building a long-term career in bookkeeping. Certificate III or IV in Bookkeeping (or similar) is highly regarded. Full Australian working rights.
