About the Role
As the Head of Department, Student Services, you will focus on initiatives that support and enhance the educational outcomes for students while incorporating the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division into school planning. You will be responsible for developing the quality of teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, and the community. Reporting to the school Principal or their delegate, the Head of Department must demonstrate strong leadership in student support services, a solid understanding of inclusive education, and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience with behaviour management frameworks, case management, and a background in rural or regional education will be highly advantageous.
Your Responsibilities
As the Laidley District State School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
* Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
