Based in Sydney, Sanmik is now looking for a General Accountant to join our team.
The Role:
To maintain adequate accounting records to enable the preparation of monthly management reports and annual financial statements. Perform all necessary ledger reconciliations and maintain supporting working papers to ensure the accuracy of reports produced. To assist management in the preparation and maintenance of appropriate company records. This role has the capacity of a full time.
Tasks Include:
Preparing budgets, forecasts and financial statements & reports for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders and governing and statutory bodies;
Analysing, investigating and reporting on variances between actual and budget/forecast performance of the business;
Examining operating costs and organizations’ income and expenditure;
Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements;
Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations;
Preparing month-end, quarterly and year-end financial reports for management and statutory bodies;
Preparing taxation returns for individuals and organizations;
Managing the company’s tax compliance including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) & Good & Services Tax (GST);
Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements;
Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems;
Maintaining internal control systems;
Appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects.
Key requirements:
A qualified degree in Accounting, Business or relating fields
At least 2 years’ experience as an Accountant
In depth understanding of accounting standards and procedures
Great written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail
Quick learner, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong computer literacy and excel skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Remuneration and benefits
· A competitive salary will be offered.
· Salary range of $70,000-$80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
